 ORACLE DBA I

 

DUTIES:        

Coordinate changes to computer databases, test and implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems. Install, configure, tune, and support Oracle 10g and 11g instances in both dedicated and consolidated environments including RAC. Apply and support established regular maintenance and critical patch updates in accordance with IT Policies. Support an on call rotation for 24/7 Incident Response to database alerts, issues from production, monitoring tools and Command Center personnel. Optimize Oracle resource utilization by tuning queries, recommending indexes, and configuring database instance parameters. Provide input on the selection and implementation of all database administration tools. Maintain the integrity of data within the production environment including the execution of proper backup and restoration. Deploy database changes in strict accordance with Change Management policies and procedures. Lead, mentor and provide guidance to database engineers where applicable including guidance for troubleshooting escalated issues. Will collaborate with System Administrators, Project Managers and other team members to support various project requests.

 

Requirements:

Master’s degree or foreign equivalency in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Engineering, Business or related field and 1 year of experience. 

In lieu of Masters and 1 year, employer will accept a Bachelors or foreign equivalency in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Engineering, Business or related field and 5 years of experience.

Experience to include Oracle, SQL Server, PL/SQL, C, C++, SQL*Plus, Oracle Enterprise manager, Oracle Developer Suite, SQL*Loader, Toad, Tkprof, Explain Plan, JAVA, Unix, Perl Scripts, RMAN.

 

OTHER:                    

Location: Unanticipated worksites thru out U.S.

40 hrs/wk

Salary range: $77,500-$87,000
